Hemp Seed Protein FibreHemp Seed Protein Fibre (animal grade) is the residue or by product of THC free Hemp Seed (Cannabis Sativa) after the oil has been extracted. This fibre originates in a pellet form which is commonly referred to as Hemp Cake and is then further milled (cold processed) to produce the final fibre product (which can be best described as a coarsely ground flour/meal). Hemp Seed Protein Fibre is now also available in pellet form (large pellets). Hemp Seed Fibre contains protein and high levels of dietary fibre both soluble and insoluble. In addition, the oil component provides one of the richest sources of the Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's) Linoleic Acid (Omega 6, LA) and Alpha linolenic Acid (Omega 3, ALA) as well as smaller amounts of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) and Stearidonic Acid (SDA).

Feeding Hemp Seed Protein Fibre to Horses

Hemp Seed Protein Fibre is a true cool feed with added benefits. Hemp Seed Protein Fibre contains essential omega oils and unique anti-inflammatory properties. Suitable for all ages and stages, from foals to geriatric horses and pleasure horses to dressage/jumping athletes. Brilliant product for laminitis.

200 grams a day may be all that is necessary for good conditioned, well horses/ponies who only require a little extra shine, or maintenance levels after results achieved. Miniatures may only need as little as a few tablespoons a day.

250 - 500 gams a day may be required for extremely hard worked, sore, injured, lighter weight ponies.

500 grams - 1 kg a day may be required for extremely hard worked, sore, injured lighter weight horses.

Up to 1.5 kg a day may be required for a start with rescued, skeletal, severely injured horses, which may need their ailments eased and condition, nutrition restored after neglect or injury. Feed rates can be reduced as results seen, until down to maintenance levels.

Can be fed straight or added to horses daily ration/feed. Some horses will eat the Hemp Seed Protein Fibre straight away while others may take a few days to adjust to the taste. A small amount in their feed may assist in this adjustment.

PLEASE NOTE: Feed rates will vary for individuals. Start at the lowest rate you think you will need, working up until you get results, then the rates can be tapered back to maintenance levels as results appear / things improve.
